Job Summary
The Accounting Projects Coordinator role is responsible for providing leadership with the Controller to set up and maintain various data that integrates into the monthly processes for accurate Financial reporting. This position will work with various other departments to help streamline data collected to enable accurate and timely financial close process each month. This position will work closely with other staff within the accounting department, while also collaborating with the Controller to ensure compliance in maintaining hospital financial records.

Job Specific Responsibilities
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

• Prepare accounting records in accordance with GAAP/GSB
• Create processes and ensure separation of duties are followed with the new processes
• Participate in audit reviews
• Assess financial impact of services, programs, and monitor financial cost for ongoing services
• Prepare documents/reports in response to inquiries from state, federal, or third party payers
• Create and maintain statistical reports
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial data flows into the GL system accurately and completely.
• Assist Controller to ensure compliance
• Follow up on all internal and external audits to ensure management responses are completed time
• All other related duties assigned under accounting

Education and Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field
• +3 years of experience in public accounting, preferably healthcare environment
• +3 years analyzing data using spreadsheets
• +1 year of demonstrated leadership leading people and/or processes
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office

Required Licensures/Certifications/Registrations
• Certified Public Accountant license

Skills and Abilities
• Able to articulate applied principles and procedures of accounting
• Numerical ability to perform rapid and accurate arithmetic computations with or without adding machine/calculator
• Proficient use of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, and Powerpoint)
• Ability to operate computer and calculator by touch
• Good attention to detail; Ability to post and compute figures and prepare financial statements following standard methods and procedures

Interaction with Other Departments and Other Relationships
The person in this role will have interactions with other accountants, department directors, and senior level management within the hospital

Physical Capabilities
Occasionally exerts a small amount of force to lift, carry, push, pull, and move objects. Should be able to lift 10 lbs. Work involves sitting for prolonged periods of time. Hearing acuity is required to be able to accurately transact business dealings

This position is subject to inside environmental conditions, including variations in temperature
