PART TIME Up To 26 Hours a Week 

The Long Term Foster Care Clinician is responsible for the protection, care, and supervision of all Unaccompanied Children and Adolescents (UAC) in their care as they conducts mental health assessments and provides individual, family, and group therapeutic sessions for each UC on their caseload. The clinician works with other members of the Long-Term Foster Care team to maintain safe and therapeutic foster placements for the youth in the program.

  • Adhere to and follow the code of ethics, all mandated reporting requirements, and ensure confidentiality of UACs information whom are admitted to the program.
  • Perform mental health assessments of UACs admitted to the program including a mental health diagnostic impression, and other screenings as determined by clinical needs and/or by the program requirements.
  • Perform evidenced based clinical interventions as indicated by unaccompanied the UACs needs, and/or the program requirements including individual, family, and group therapies as clinically indicated.
  • Timely document all mental health treatment updates, ongoing assessments and additional relevant information guiding the clinical treatment of minor, in the UC Portal documentation system, as well as record clinical interventions and clinical progress for each UAC on the agencys EHRS clinical documentation system.
  • Collaborate with other LTFC team members and Resource Parents as clinically indicated to address and resolve UACs physical, emotional, and behavioral care.
  • Participate in professional development training program closely associated with the program's clinical functions and mandated by Office of Refugee and Resettlement (ORR).
  • Fulfill the specific requirements of the appropriate regulatory professional organization (e.g. Board of Behavioral Sciences (BBS).
  • Respond to urgent/emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and/or direct other personnel to assist in the emotional, behavioral problem resolution.
  • Completion of assigned home studies for Resource Parents (will need to become SAFE certifies within the first 6 months of employment, if not already).
  • Assists with recruiting, orientating and training of Resource Parents.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Supervisor or Director of Foster Care.
  • Position is approximately 26 hours a week

Qualifications

  • A Master's degree in social work, counseling psychology, marriage and family therapy, clinical psychology or other relevant behavioral science in which clinical experience is a program requirement. 
  • Must be licensed or licensed eligible. 
  • Must be bilingual (English/Spanish) and be able to fluently speak, read, and write. 
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products such as word, outlook, etc.
  •  A valid California drivers license and a good driver record.
  • Ability to pass background check and meeting requirements of Title 22 in order to work with children/youth in placement.
  • Prior experience working with either immigrant youth and/or in a foster family agency is preferred.

This position does require travel to and from foster homes in the provision of services.
