Diesel Mechanic
Job Overview
The Diesel Mechanic is responsible for servicing Heavy Equipment to maximize equipment availability using efficient and proactive preventative maintenance programs.
- Properly complete services and/or repairs on equipment and plant.
- Produces daily equipment inspections and documents findings.
- Checks behind operators to ensure the equipment is properly greased.
- Works with management on planning and scheduling services.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot units to resolve malfunctions.
- Follow checklists ensuring all critical parts are examined.
- Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on units, and adjust as needed.
- Test-operate equipment to ensure they run smoothly.
- Complete all work according to applicable safety requirements.
- Make every effort to achieve the production objectives set by management.
- Any other miscellaneous duties as assigned.
