Position Summary
The Regional Sales Manager will lead the Sales Team of Account Managers and manages the sales process for the organization. This senior level leader supports operations to implement the organizational sales strategy, drive revenue growth, and accomplish financial objectives. This position is part of the organization Leadership Team implementing and driving the company mission, and strategic vision.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales Planning
- Collaborates with executive leadership to develop sales strategies to meet or exceed the business sales production plan. This position is responsible for driving revenue growth and achieving a sales plan of 12-15 million.
- Reviews and analyzes sales and operational records and reports; uses data to project sales, determine profitability and targets, and identify potential new markets.
- Strives for year over year for continuous improvement of the sales department to bring in new business and retain existing clients.
- Prepares sales budget and business plan in collaboration with Executive Leadership.
- Implements processes, tools and structures to support the sales organization operations.
- Conducts long-term and short-term goals setting for team and individuals and uses data to measure and monitor sales processes, identify issues and enhance performance.
- Monitors the industry, business environment, competitors and customer to develop plans action plans for expanding and retaining the customer base.
- Using customer feedback and insight gained from industry trends, the sales manager will collaborate with internal Solution Team to identify and suggest new solution offerings.
Leadership, Management and Accountability for an Eight-person team of Sales Representatives and a Sales Coordinator across two states. (Michigan and IL)
- Provides leadership to the sales team to maximize potential.
- Motivates encourages sales team to ensure monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets are met.
- Builds and develops a high-performing sales and support teams with recruiting, mentoring, coaching and training.
- Hires and trains, coaches and develops selling and account management capabilities that result in increased performance and planned business results for a team of eight Sales Representatives and a Sales Coordinator across two states. (Michigan and IL)
- Conducts quarterly performance evaluations that are timely and constructive.
- Performs Field Coaching sessions work with the Sales Representatives on their development needs.
- Conduct New Hire Field Training and Onboarding with the goal of increasing the speed of competency and ramp up time.
- Identify, coordinate, and facilitate gap training that will enhance the ability of the sales team members to increase attainment of the company goals.
- Proactively manage all open deals in support of sales representatives with solutions knowledge coaching.
- Participates in meetings and presentations to support or close strategic or high-value sales.
- Support attrition initiatives to support the team in reaching their attrition goal.
House Accounts Manager:
- Communicate and foster relationships with our major clients.
- Develop Major Account Target List
- Manage existing major accounts and bring on 1-2 new major accounts a year.
- Monitor market and competitor activity.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Proven Sales Leadership and management experience
- Strong leadership and management skills.
- At least two years of successful individual contributor level sales experience with full –cycle sales responsibilities.
- Strong strategic skills and high business acumen
- Passion for and skill in coaching sales representatives
- Unwavering commitment to reaching sales goals.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent sales and customer service skills with proven negotiation skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and CRM tools
- Comparable record of sales leadership experience .
Other Key Information
- On onset, this position will travel on average 40-50% of the time between Michigan and Illinois.
- Drive own vehicle on onset with mileage reimbursement at IRS level.
- Commissions paid on the 15th of the following month for previous month,
- Base pay is bi-monthly, 24 pays a year.
